所谓全部否定，就是对被否定的词、句的意义作全部的而不是部分的否定。在英语中，全部否定是通过一些以字母“n”打头的否定词来表达的。这类否定词常用的有no, none, not, never, nobody, nothing, nohow, nowhere, neither...nor 等。烟台翻译公司由这类词构成的全部否定与汉语的否定形式基本相同，一般可照译为汉语否定句。但有时需要改变否定词的词序。例如：

国际商用机器公司可能永远不能恢复它在计算机工业中无可争辩的巨人地位。

7. None of the inert gases will combine with other substances to form compounds.

无论哪一种惰性气体，都不会和其它物质化合而形成化合物。

8. Horsepower has nothing to do with the horse.

马力和马毫不相干。

9. A gas has neither definite shape nor definite volume.

气体既没有一定的形状，也没有一定的体积。

10. This material cannot withstand strong stresses, not can it resist high temperatures.

这种材料既经不住重压，又不耐高温。

11. The book was nowhere to be found.

那本书哪里也找不到了。
